We are excited to advertise this Senior Occupational Therapist position within the Comprehensive Assessment Service for Older People (CASOP). This occupational therapy post will be responsible for assessment and treatment of patients presenting to this Outpatient Service.
The successful applicant will have experience in an NHS healthcare setting and have experience of supervising and training staff. The Trust provides clinical placements for students, so experience of clinical supervision of undergraduate students is essential.
Our service provides a Consultant-led multi-disciplinary comprehensive assessment for older adults who are mild to moderately frail and have had a fall or are at risk of falling.
The role will be based within the Specialist Rehabilitation Centre of our Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (FNCH) site.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the Multidisciplinary Team to deliver the highest quality of service and reduce the risks associated with Falls and Frailty. This will be in the format of supporting our initial MDT comprehensive assessment and occupational therapy follow-up sessions generated from clinic. The post holder will need to manage their individual caseload and interface with other service providers in-house and within the community.
The post holder will be required to provide managerial support and development to the more junior staff within the team. A staff appraisal system is in operation and staff are supported with excellent professional development opportunities.

Person Specification
* Occupational therapy degree or equivalent diploma
* Experience working as part of an occupational therapy team and/or multi-disciplinary team
* HCPC Registered
* Planning and organisation skills to enable effective time management of own caseload
* Demonstration of an advanced level of communication skills
* Experience of working in a hospital
* Experience of supervising staff and completing appraisals
* Experience of working in a clinic
* Experience with falls and frailty
