As Assistant General Manager, reporting to GM you will be responsible for delivering a safe, efficient and successful operation, whilst managing significant continuous improvement with key stakeholders and our onsite-customers. As a natural leader, you’ll be engaging with stakeholders at all levels, working together as we embrace growth and implement change. This is an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with key strategic customer/stakeholders whilst being hands on operationally as an AGM. Key Responsibilities Overall responsibility for Health, Safety and Well-being of all colleagues working on the account. Overall responsibility with the General Manager, for all warehouse operational KPI deliverables. Develop Key Account Plan in alignment with Wincanton’s and the customers growth agenda to ensure a joint delivery of key milestones within the plan to achieve customer satisfaction, reduce duplication which will increase our ability and agility to service our customer. Identify new ways to grow the customers supply chain and provide best-in-class operational excellence. Establish engagement plans with key customer stakeholders to enhance relationships at all levels of the business. Provide leadership to the contract team in formulating and delivering the Operational Master Plan. Lead the Continuous Improvement programme on site to ensure that a CI approach is undertaken in relation to processes, systems, equipment, and facilities. Ultimate responsibility for the professional and personal development of colleagues working on the contract, and ownership of recruitment and people retention. Establish the existing site as a leader in terms of innovation and new technologies. Identify and manage the implementation of investment and site improvement projects. What will you bring to our team? Experience in leading all aspects of a multi-site, customer led operation and proven track record in delivering innovative performance improvements and operational excellence (new business tenders, managing startups and business transfers is ideal). Strong experience of warehouse logistics/supply chain with varying levels of complexity. Savvy commercial acumen, with an understanding of ‘open/closed book’ contracts, with a profit centre approach & culture that focuses on bottom line performance. Agile approach to strategy and planning with proven experience of adapting operational plans to changing customer requirements whilst also achieving a commercial benefit. Continuous Improvement mindset with proven project results, showing an appreciation of key methodologies and approaches. Succeeds in building effective stakeholder relationships with the ability to influence management team’s thinking to deliver high performance through a culture of accountability and ownership. Demonstrable exemplary customer relationship management skills with the flexibility in style, approach to manage several clients with varying requirements at the same time. What do we offer?
