Explore your full potential
The Vet Centre in Buckinghamshire is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for either a less experienced vet looking to build core skills in a supportive environment or a more experienced vet aiming to move into a senior or leadership role in the future.
Our caseload covers all aspects of first-opinion veterinary work as well as major surgical procedures. Typical cases include neutering, spays, dentals, minor surgeries, and more complex procedures such as cardiac scans, endoscopy (rhinoscopy & otoscopy through to colonoscopy), laparoscopy (with over 90% of spays performed as keyhole surgery), fracture repairs, and stifle TTA's. If you have a particular area of expertise or interest, we are happy to support you in developing your skills further.
Embrace a rewarding balance
We understand the importance of a good work-life balance and offer a flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours. Full-time, part-time, and flexible working arrangements can all be considered to find the right solution for you.
We are ideally looking to fill 30 hours per week across 3 days with an equal share in 1 in 5 Saturday mornings, with time off in lieu. The role can be primarily based at our Maids Moreton site or split between both Maids Moreton and our Cherry Lane branch. Confidence in sole charge is essential.
Why join The Vet Centre?
We are a well-established practice with an excellent reputation for providing high-quality care while ensuring that our team enjoys what they do. We foster a friendly, supportive environment with a varied caseload and opportunities for professional growth, allowing you to get the most out of general practice.
Our team consists of 6 Veterinary Surgeons (4 FTE), 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and 2 trainee nurses. We operate from our main site in Maids Moreton and our branch in Cherry Lane, providing first-class veterinary care in a welcoming, progressive setting.
Our Maids Moreton surgery is fully equipped with diagnostic, laboratory, surgical, and hospitalisation facilities. We take pride in engaging our clinical expertise to investigate and treat our patients to the highest standards, with referrals to specialists when needed. Our advanced equipment includes:
1. Cardiac ultrasound
2. Endoscopy (rhinoscopy & otoscopy through to colonoscopy)
3. Laparoscopy (with 90%+ of spays performed as keyhole procedures)
4. Bipolar diathermy, harmonic scalpels, and Enseal equipment to enhance surgical outcomes
5. Dental x-rays at both sites, along with air-driven equipment, sharp instruments, and Vet-tome to make dentals efficient and stress-free
If you are looking for a role that is both rewarding and fulfilling, in a practice where veterinary work can be enjoyable and engaging, we would love to hear from you.
