We are seeking experienced Practice Educator and Neonatal Senior Nurses to join and support and lead our team at our Southend Hospital site.
As a Neonatal Senior Nurse you will be required to initiate, evaluate and maintain a high standard of care, ensuring that it is evidence-based and compliant with best practice recommendations for NICU services.
This post would suit a qualified Neonatal Nurse that is compassionate, a patient advocate and an effective role model who always strives to deliver excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for leading in the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of care.
* To manage and lead the nursing team and other staff in the clinical area assuring the highest standards of clinical care.
* To ensure effective communication between members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care and to promote effective team working.
* To manage standards of care ensuring family involvement is encouraged.
* To manage the provisions of high-quality service for patients on a continuous basis.
* To liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team.
* To ensure effective supervision of clinical & non-clinical risk reporting to the Neonatal Unit Manager.
* Work closely with the Neonatal Unit matron to lead the clinical development of the unit and the Trust's nursing strategy.

Person Specification
Experience
* Strong experience as a Band 6 Neonatal Nurse.
* Evidence of continuous professional and personal development. Demonstrate an ability to manage high-quality patient care provision. Change management experience and evidence to support change management values towards everyone who uses or delivers our patient services.
* Knowledge and experience of clinical governance.
* Experience as a Neonatal Band 7.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on part 1 or 12 of the NMC Register.
* Leadership course/qualification.
Communication Skills
* Demonstrates excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
* Ability to deal with conflict and conflict resolution.
Personal and People Development
* Demonstrate the ability to deal with complex situations. Keen to develop staff to their full potential.
* Commitment to promoting and sustaining the highest standards of patient care.
Other
* Enhanced DBS Clearance.
