FM Conway is currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant to join our successful Commercial Team! As our Commercial Assistant, you will provide accurate and value-generating input to our projects, ensuring all commercial aspects are carried out in accordance with the contract, company policies, and procedures. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Rayleigh depot in Essex.
The duties of the Commercial Assistant role will include:
1. Undertaking cost value analysis for all aspects of the works including Reactive and Schemes.
2. Performing risk, value management, and cost control activities for the benefit of the contract.
3. Managing the change control process, capturing, notifying, valuing, and agreeing variations and contractual claims.
4. Providing advice on procurement strategy, including cost value analysis and procurement of sub-contractors.
5. Valuing work within various management software and arranging invoice and payment applications to clients and payments to sub-contractors.
6. Proactively managing cash flow with WIP and debt monitoring, including proactive cash collection to ensure prompt payment.
7. Analyzing cost trends and identifying cost savings to support the contract.
What skills and experience do you need?
We are looking for a candidate with strong administrative skills, competent in the full Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. You should have a keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills. Experience in the highways or construction industry would be beneficial. To be considered, you should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent. This role involves travel to other FM Conway locations, so you must be able to drive and possess a full UK driving licence.
