As well as our flagship projects, TRACTEBEL also has a pipeline of other opportunities in the nuclear industry to feed our expansion in 2024 and 2025.

The OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Design Managers to work on the design of the Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplant, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams.
The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following points, depending on your experience and the position you take within our team:
1. Leading project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
2. Developing and executing project plans, including scope, schedule, cost, risk management, and communication plans.
3. Facilitating communication and co-ordination of information to stakeholders, including project team members, clients, and senior management.
4. Supporting and mentoring members of the team, to help them develop individually and to meet our collective goals.
5. Identifying and mitigating project risks.
6. Supporting our Contract Managers in the preparation of claims and variations.
7. Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
8. Supporting the engineering discipline leads, to develop training plans and strategies for increasing our capability in the UK.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:
1. Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Design or Technical Management experience, preferably for major projects in highly regulated industry, e.g. nuclear.
3. Background demonstrating strong technical skills in your field of engineering, with experience in delivery technical packages.
4. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
The following experience is also beneficial:
1. Experience in tender management and bid preparation is not mandatory but beneficial.
2. Experience working in the UK nuclear industry, with appreciation of key stakeholders, clients and regulations.
3. A project management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2, APM.
