Interim Senior Buying Specialist
This role is for an Interim Senior Buying Specialist, who will be responsible for managing the procurement strategies to optimum cost, quality, and delivery.
Client Details: Our client is a global leading manufacturer with a site based in South Wales, a dynamic, fast-moving business environment delivering new products to meet a rapidly evolving market demand. They are looking for an interim to join them to support a global project for the next 16 months.
Description:
1. Procures goods and services and executes buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon goods and services plans at the optimum cost, quality, and delivery.
2. Conducts complex analysis of sourcing information and presents findings to procurement and supply chain leadership for process improvement and cost reduction while maintaining high quality product and service delivery.
3. Procurement of services, inventory items, supplies, and capital goods.
4. Manages regional commodities aligned to global category structure.
5. Prepares and presents recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior buying/sourcing leadership.
6. Evaluates consistent application of buying/sourcing procedures and processes.
7. Supports buying/sourcing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, industry and market analysis, process analysis, and model building.
8. Leads analysis projects/initiatives providing coaching to less experienced team members.
9. Negotiates within the pre-approved alternative language framework.
10. Develop effective relationships with suppliers aligned to Category Partner Lists.
11. Facilitates Purchase Requisition approvals.
12. Executes Tactical Sourcing, RapidSources, and eBids within a country or countries within the region.
13. Experience of working with multiple time zones. Project will be supporting Europe, China, and USA.
Profile: A successful Interim Senior Buying Specialist should have:
1. A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Demonstrable experience in procurement gained in manufacturing environments.
3. Experience of working with electronic and mechanical components commodities.
4. Project Management / Coordination Skills.
5. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
6. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
7. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
