An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Therapist / Lead Therapist with experience working with children who have SEMH needs to join an outstanding independent therapeutic school.
This full-time, permanent role offers excellent benefits and a salary range of £36,000 - £52,000.
As a Senior Therapist / Lead Therapist, you will oversee staff training, manage external referrals (including to CAMHS), and provide direct therapeutic support to families.
You will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing the therapeutic curriculum alongside leadership colleagues, ensuring effective and flexible therapy programmes.
2. Being the primary contact for families regarding therapy and support.
3. Organising and delivering individual and group therapy sessions.
4. Conducting initial assessments and implementing tailored therapeutic programmes.
5. Managing the development and implementation of therapeutic progress plans in collaboration with the teaching team.
6. Planning and leading staff training and delivering refresher therapy sessions.
What we are looking for:
1. Previously worked as a Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or in a similar role.
2. Degree-level qualification and full therapy registration (e.g., BACP).
3. Experience working with children and young people in challenging contexts and in a specialised therapeutic field.
4. Strong competence in English and mathematics.
5. Background working with children with SEN and challenging behaviour in classroom settings.
6. Understanding of child development, learning, and SEMH/SEND needs.
