This is a well-established Psychological Therapist post based in the Eating Disorders Service at The Barberry in Edgbaston, Birmingham. It involves the provision of specialist psychological assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions to clients of the Eating Disorders Service. An important aspect of the role is to provide consultation-liaison and training to colleagues in primary and secondary care teams. Being allied to the multi-disciplinary team in the Eating Disorders Service, the post holder will act as a member of the team, attend meetings and offer supervision, advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to team colleagues. The post holder will be closely supervised and supported by a senior Clinical Psychologist / Psychological Therapist in the Eating Disorders Service.
Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified specialist psychological therapy service to users of the service team, across all sectors of care providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering supervision, advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To utilise skills for clinical and service audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* A recorded/registered qualification eligible for registration with the HCPC or the NMC, PLUS a post graduate qualification to at least diploma level in an evidence-based psychological therapies, including CBT.
Desirable
* Pre-qualification training in specific therapeutic approaches such as MANTRA, EMDR, etc.
Experience
Essential
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings.
* Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups presenting with mental health problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
Skills
Essential
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Skills in providing consultation and liaison to other professional and non-professional groups.
Desirable
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
