Small Charity - Interim Chief Executive Officer
We are seeking a proactive, organised and faith-driven leader to provide maternity cover as CEO of our small international Christian charity. This pivotal role begins in September 2025 and requires strong financial expertise, strategic leadership, and a heart for serving God through impactful ministry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the Bookkeeper to analyse finances and maintain budget control
* Manage charity accounts, payments, and Gift Aid submissions
* Support payroll processing and financial reporting
* Prepare year-end accounts and audits
* Oversee marketing, fundraising campaigns, and donor communications
* Ensure brand consistency and compliance in publicity materials
* Manage fundraising strategies and donor engagement
Leadership and Operations:
* Line manage and offer training to UK team of three (Bookkeeper, Media & Marketing, Office & Accounts Administrator) and occasional volunteers
* Oversee staff scheduling, leave, and performance appraisals
* Lead team meetings, prayer sessions, and donor events
Russian Projects and Donor Relations:
* Coordinate communications with Russian partners
* Oversee fund distribution and project funding requests
* Manage supporter engagement and correspondence
Minimum Requirements:
* Commitment to Christian faith with the ability to integrate and demonstrate its influence in a professional setting
* Strong financial management skills
* Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
* Proactive and detail-oriented approach
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Strategic thinker with fundraising and donor relations experience
* Strong understanding of international relations and their impact on fundraising, publicity, and international project management
Contract Details:
This is a fixed term contract for ten months, with possibility for an extension. Job to begin first week of September 2025, if not before.
Hours: 22.5 to 30 hours per week, worked over a minimum of three working days. Your schedule will include the office’s core hours of 09:30 to 14:00, with exact working hours to be agreed based on workload and discussed further at interview.
Location: Primarily based in our Nottingham office, with a limited hybrid working option. A minimum of two days per week must be worked on-site, and sometimes the nature of tasks will require more hours to be worked at the office.
Additional Hours: This role requires occasional work outside of regular hours, including a minimum of four Saturday mornings per year.
Travel: Due to the office’s location and occasional travel requirements, access to a car is essential.
