This is a full-time office-based position in Stanford-Le-Hope, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work closely with the existing team to ensure accounting records are maintained on a timely and accurate basis for the company and associated companies.
2. Manage the Accounts Mailbox and ensure emails are dealt with correctly and efficiently.
3. Create and maintain customer and supplier records on multiple systems.
4. Manage customer credit limits, including applying, increasing, and cancelling credit limits through our trade credit portal.
5. Run credit checks.
6. Handle ad hoc sales invoicing.
7. Conduct credit control, allocate customer receipts, and send statements.
8. Process customer and supplier transactions.
9. Issue and update purchase orders.
10. Process purchase invoices and check supplier statements.
11. Process contras.
12. Review and post credit card transactions and employee expenses onto financial software.
13. Manage sales and purchase invoice queries.
14. Make supplier payments.
15. Perform bank reconciliations.
16. Handle ad hoc admin and accounts duties.
17. Post journal entries and use control accounts.
18. Assist the Financial Controller with VAT Returns, Month End (including balance sheet reconciliations, maintenance of Prepayments & Accruals, Management accounts variance analysis), and Year End closedowns.
19. Run cost-saving exercises.
20. Assist the Financial Controller, Directors, and/or Management with ad hoc tasks and projects.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Minimum qualification: AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
2. Advanced knowledge and experience using SAGE 50 accounts.
3. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
4. Good knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
5. Good communication skills; fluent spoken and written English.
6. Must have a CAN DO attitude.
7. Demonstrate positivity, approachability, and have an investigative nature.
8. Excellent attention to detail.
