Join Our Team as a Full-Time Process Support Operator in Surrey, BC!
* Full Time
* Surrey, BC
Your Mission:
As a Process Support Operator, you will provide crucial coverage for the Loader Operator and Process EIT roles, ensuring seamless operations at our composting plant. You’ll act as the backbone of our process team, stepping in when absences occur and contributing to key projects when full coverage isn’t required. If you enjoy working in dynamic environments and thrive on the challenge of wearing many hats, this role is for you.
Here’s what an ordinary day of work might look like:
* When covering the Loader Operator role, you’ll be loading vehicles, tunnels, and equipment with waste, operating mobile machinery to maintain process equipment, and conducting safety checks to ensure operational readiness.
* When supporting the Process EIT role, you’ll manage day-to-day operations using SCADA systems, troubleshooting alarms, and working with the Process Leader to coordinate production schedules. You’ll also oversee critical processes, like composting and biogas production, identifying and addressing any abnormalities.
* On a daily basis, no matter your role, you’ll operate safely and effectively, contribute to safety meetings, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal requirements.
* You’ll assist with coordinating efforts between the process and maintenance teams, ensuring smooth operations and proactive problem-solving.
This job is for you if you:
* Have a high school diploma (post-secondary education in sciences like biology, chemistry, or environmental studies is a bonus).
* Bring at least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation, ideally within composting or similar environments.
* Possess SCADA system knowledge (preferred) and intermediate computer skills.
* Hold relevant certifications such as a heavy equipment operator certificate, a valid driver’s license, and (ideally) First Aid.
* Thrive working independently and as part of a team and approach challenges with effective problem-solving skills.
* Embrace flexibility with varying shifts and are ready for on-call availability to keep operations running smoothly.
Compensation package:
* Wage – $32.32 per hour
* Paid time off – sick and vacation
* Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
* On-the-job training
* Employee recognition
Schedule: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Wednesday to Sunday.
