Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Foreman to lead an additional maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep of a diverse range of outdoor spaces, including parkland, supermarkets, public open areas, commercial and industrial properties, as well as private and social housing schemes. This role demands a strong knowledge of landscape maintenance, exceptional organisational abilities, and excellent time management skills. A commitment to delivering high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail is essential for success in this position.
Duties
1. Plan and perform landscape maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, shrub and hedge maintenance, weed control, litter collection, leaf collection, etc.
2. Ensure that all works are completed to the required standard on each visit.
3. Be responsible for and supervise grounds maintenance operatives within your team.
4. Liaise with our clients on each of your sites to build strong working relationships.
5. Complete and submit maintenance visit reports in a timely manner.
6. Ensure works are undertaken safely at all times.
7. Utilise power tools such as blowers, mowers, chainsaws, and hedge trimmers safely and efficiently.
8. Conduct regular inspections of the sites to identify maintenance needs or potential issues and report these back to your supervisor.
9. Assist in the installation of new landscaping features or enhancements as required.
10. Assist with the training of operatives under your supervision.
Experience
1. Previous experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping at a supervisory level is essential.
2. Experience and a good working knowledge of all grounds maintenance equipment and their capabilities.
3. PA1 and PA6 herbicide application qualifications.
4. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
5. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills related to grounds maintenance.
6. A full UK driving licence is essential.
