The Quantock Education Trust (QET) is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Human Resources Officer to join our HR team. This exciting role comes as a result of Trust growth and a reorganisation of the HR function, making it the perfect time to step in and help shape our future.
The post will be based at Sexey’s School, Bruton but the postholder will also be responsible for providing HR support to 4 primary schools in the region. Occasional travel to these schools will be necessary, along with monthly travel to the QET offices in Bridgwater. Travel expenses payable. Why Choose Us?

• Employee Relations: Offering guidance on HR policies and best practice to ensure fair outcomes.
• Recruitment Excellence: Managing recruitment processes, safer recruitment practices, and staff onboarding.
• Policy & Compliance: Keeping our HR policies up-to-date and aligned with employment legislation.
• HR Administration: From contracts to payroll and absence management, you’ll ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Training & Development: Supporting staff training and development while implementing performance management processes. What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
• CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience and a willingness to work towards the qualification
• GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English
• Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office
Experience & Skills:
• Previous HR experience, ideally within education or the public sector
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
