This post is part of CAMHS commitment to improving responses to the mental health needs of Black, Brown, and other racialised Communities within Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset. We particularly welcome suitably experienced applicants from those communities. The postholder will be supported by a CAMHS Clinical Manager and be based at East and Central CAMHS, Barton Hill Settlement.
The purpose of the role is to work with the CAMHS Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver a programme of work that supports:
* Development of culturally sensitive, inclusive and fair services across CAMHS, which delivers early intervention and better health outcomes.
* Delivers the CAMHS equality, diversity and inclusion objectives in relation to service delivery and community engagement.
* Promotes cultural intelligence and just culture within the CAMHS workforce through e.g. training and reflective practice sessions, facilitating conversations, learning events.
* Developing and sustaining Partnership working with ethnically diverse communities, statutory providers including education and children's social care, voluntary and independent organisations to support the development and provision of an integrated service that brings together opportunities for improving children and young people's mental health.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will work with the CAMHS Senior Management Team to develop more inclusive and accessible pathways and care for ethnically diverse communities. You will facilitate co-production with children, young people and parents/carers networks supporting mental health awareness and access. You will facilitate positive collaborative partnerships with diverse community groups and the local statutory, voluntary and independent organisations ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are engaged and involved in the development of local services. You will support staff learning and development of staff in CAMHS services to develop their skills and knowledge in working with ethnically diverse communities. You will support CAMHS in recruitment and apprenticeship campaigns to increase the diversity of the local workforce. You will be expected to communicate effectively within and between CAMHS Teams and participate in team meetings, development days etc. You will support data collection and provide progress reports to the CAMHS SMT and Trustwide meetings as appropriate. You will lead and contribute to specific project work aimed at improving access to CAMHS for ethnically diverse communities alongside the CAMHS SMT and Improving Access to CAMHS for 'Black and Brown Communities Quality Improvement Project Working Group.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification - Essential:
* Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Work, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner or equivalent professional qualification in Mental Health or psychological interventions with CAMHS.
* OR
* Formal postgraduate diploma level qualification in a relevant field and knowledge of mental health.
* AND
* Substantial experience of CAMHS gained through working with children and young peoples.
* Evidence of recent professional development.
Experience and Knowledge - Essential:
* Working with ethnically diverse communities and of working across different sectors to deliver community engagement and development, and involvement strategies/initiatives.
* Service improvement through co-production related to mental health.
* Networking and liaising with multiple agencies.
* Awareness of local inequalities and the impact of inequalities faced by ethnically diverse community groups in relation to Mental Health.
Able to:
* Challenge discrimination and inequities in order to enable service change within CAMHS and influence Senior leadership.
* Work as part of a team and work independently.
* Meet deadlines and prioritise.
* Develop effective partnerships and alliances in order to persuade influence and motivate others.
* Communicate with a wide range of people in order to understand and resolve a range of issues.
