Growing Well is a social enterprise founded in 2004 providing therapeutic horticultural activities to those feeling depressed, anxious or finding difficulties in everyday life. To date, they've supported over 900 people find recovery on their own terms and in their own communities, either within their organic vegetable farm at Low Sizergh Farm or their kitchen gardens. The Role Together, we're looking for a new Head of Operations tohelp manage the day-to-day running of Growing Well’s services ensuring parity, consistency, and excellence across all sites. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will deputise as needed and act as a senior ambassador for the organisation. You’ll drive operational efficiency, embed a cohesive culture across sites, and ensure Growing Well continues in its efforts to deliver compassionate and meaningful impact. The successful candidate will: - Be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, acting as a senior ambassador for the charity, assisting the CEO in the creation of organisational strategy and ensuring it is implemented effectively via clear, achievable, work systems - Oversee our sites’ operations and administration, including service, product and project delivery, IT, legal, HR, health and safety, plus beneficiary and client relationship management - Drive organisational development at Growing Well, introducing and optimising policies and systems that improve and promote company vision and culture - Lead and motivate staff to achieve organisational objectives, via the direct line management of our site managers - Evaluate organisational operational performance and recommend strategies to improve results About You We are looking for a pragmatic, organised, and compassionate leader who can bring structure, logic, and operational excellence to the organisation. You don’t need experience in horticulture, mental health or income generation, but you must possess excellent operational and HR skills, along with a strong ability to drive consistency and culture across multiple sites. What we're looking for Proven management and leadership experience, ideally within an operations-focused role. Strong knowledge of HR processes and the ability to manage complex staffing needs. Exceptional organisational, logistical, and decision-making skills. An ability to work collaboratively while also challenging constructively when needed. Demonstrable success in driving continuous improvement in policies and systems. Experience leading teams in dynamic, multi-site organisations. Don't meet every single requirement?
