Job Description
We're working with a public sector organisation based in Oxfordshire, who are currently recruiting for a Litigation Solicitor to join the team on a permanent basis.
The position is due to start as soon as possible, and they are offering up to £54,702 per annum dependent on PQE. You will be required to attend office in Oxford once per week.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Local Authority setting and specifically within Criminal Litigation.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Handling and advising on a variety of civil and criminal disputes, principally concerning land, property or contracts
* Carrying own caseload of both Claimant and Defendant matters, including covering Court work and hearings as required
* Providing expert legal advice and representation in various civil disputes
* Conducting legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis
* Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate
* Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work
* Conducting advocacy as required in relation to cases involving trading standards, environmental health and licensing matters
Experience required:
* Qualified Solicitor / Legal Executive
* Knowledge in Criminal Law
* Local Government experience desirable
Working hours:
* 37 hours per week
* Monday – Friday
