Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children with Disabilities Social Worker to join our team. As a crucial member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children with disabilities and their families, promoting their well-being and fostering inclusion within the community.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the unique needs and strengths of children with disabilities.
2. Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with the child, family, and multidisciplinary team.
3. Advocate for the rights and needs of children with disabilities within various systems, ensuring equal access to educational and recreational opportunities.
4. Provide counseling and emotional support to children and their families, addressing the challenges associated with disabilities.
5. Collaborate with educators, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.
6. Connect families with relevant resources and services, including therapy, support groups, and assistive technologies.
7. Educate families, teachers, and community members on best practices for supporting children with disabilities.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress for each child.
9. Intervene in crisis situations and provide support during challenging times.
10. Promote inclusive practices within educational and community settings.
Qualifications:
* Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration.
* Experience working with children with disabilities.
* Strong understanding of disability legislation, policies, and best practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
