Job overview
An exciting new opportunity is available to join the Data Quality & Standards team as the Data Quality & Standards Manager (Secondment).
The role will support and provide line management to the Data Quality & Standards Team and DQ leads across the Trust to deliver continued improvement in the quality of data and information systems by identifying any Data Quality issues and developing potential solutions along with users, asset owners, administrators, and system providers.
This will cover aspects including the use of front-end Information Systems by operational staff, technical improvements to these systems, enhancements to data processing, and supporting the delivery of complete, timely, and accurate data in the Trust’s back-end Data Warehouse.
This role requires someone with attention to detail, the ability to identify errors in the Trust's reporting data, and the capacity to focus on complex tasks for extended periods.
This position would suit an individual with experience in relevant Trust roles and the wider NHS, familiarity with Trust information software, and strong analytical/data skills.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the DQ&S team are to:
* Identify potential Data Quality issues in key Trust information systems, Data Warehouse, and Data Lake.
* Extract, collate, and interpret information from multiple Trust systems.
* Manage the Trust's Data Quality reporting solution, IntoZetta.
* Create SQL queries for implementation into the Trust's Data Quality tool for monitoring and cleansing activities.
* Collaborate with Asset Owners to resolve system-related Data Quality issues affecting Trust reporting.
* Work with Operational teams to develop/refine processes to reduce incorrect data input and user errors.
* Create additional reports on DQ issues using Excel and Power BI.
* Develop detailed assurance reports on identified DQ issues for escalation through governance processes.
Working for our organisation
The Data Quality & Standards team was established to focus on Data Quality issues across the organisation.
The successful applicant will join a small team that interacts with many other teams across different directorates, including technical and non-technical staff, operational and non-operational personnel.
We are a collaborative, open, and supportive team, comprising members with extensive understanding of various roles and systems across the organisation. We also leverage the expertise of specialists within the Digital directorate and operational colleagues to improve data quality in line with Trust policies.
