Airworthiness Support Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities
* To provide technical support to ensure aircraft components are repaired and overhauled in accordance with company procedures and relevant airworthiness regulations.
* To obtain approval for deviations from published data and implement approved processes both internally and externally.
* To assist Operations with missing and damaged reports, tooling information, equipment instructions, process reviews, and technical reporting.
* To participate in investigations to analyze and recommend improvements for new products, quality issues, or other areas of concern.
* To develop new capabilities within the company by providing correct tooling, equipment, processes, training, and spares as required.
* To assist in developing new processes in non-destructive testing (NDT), machine shop, metal treatment, paint removal, painting, and plating.
* To maintain and update Master Task Lists on the company control system (SAP) and Master Parts Lists ensuring compliance with OEM publications.
* All duties must be performed in accordance with safety and environmental regulations and company procedures.
Requirements
* A degree in Engineering (Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical) or equivalent experience is ideal.
* Higher National Diploma or relevant industry experience will also be considered.
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Continuous improvement, and Statistical Process Control would be beneficial.
* An additional language (German / French) could be useful.
Experience and Knowledge
* The candidate should have manufacturing industry experience, preferably in the Aircraft/MRO environment, working with OEM data and supporting production with technical documents/instructions.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and possess basic metrology skills.
* Understanding of mechanical aspects of manufacturing processes.
* Experience with production control packages (MRP/ERP/SAP).
* Familiarity with LTLGS manufacturing technologies (Machine Shop/NDT/Plating/Assembly).
* Proficient in Microsoft Packages (Advance Excel functions/Visual Basic). Experience in 3D CAD systems (Solid Works) with modelling and drafting, and knowledge of simulation (FEA) and kinematics (movement).
* Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
* Familiarity with aircraft industry airworthiness systems (EASA 145/CAMO/Part M and wider industry FAA/ICAO).
Working Conditions
* The role requires flexibility in terms of working schedule (on and off site) based on business needs.
* The position is office-based but involves day-to-day support to the shop floor, including a plating area, where exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals and heavy lifting equipment may occur.
Additional Requirements
* Candidate must have unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
* Mandatory Training will be required.
