We are currently seeking a diligent and organised individual to join our team as a Maintenance Gatekeeper. This role is pivotal to ensuring the seamless operation and safety of our facilities by efficiently managing maintenance requests and coordinating with relevant teams.
Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Gatekeeper Role
* Verify incoming work requests for completeness, correct categorization, and operational necessity, aiming to improve accepted standards.
* Coach and mentor shift teams in effective troubleshooting and analysis, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation, and redirecting equipment care activities to the lowest deliverable level.
* Develop and configure workflows to ensure seamless information transfer between Production and Maintenance Teams.
* Review maintenance backlog, optimizing corrective, predictive, and preventive programs, and approve delivery schedules in line with production demands.
* Act as the primary liaison to resolve conflicts in schedule adherence.
* Lead reviews of completed work, participating in reliability, failure mode, effects, and critical analysis (FMECA), product data management (PDM), and standard work reviews and updates.
* Support continuous improvement across Maintenance delivery, identifying and implementing new ways of working to improve efficiency.
* Serve as the link between maintenance and production, aligning short, medium, and long-term production windows with operations and supply chain planning to ensure equipment reliability and availability.
* Own the acceptance process for maintenance tasks; lead and coach operators on acceptability levels following maintenance works, ensuring equipment is safe for use.
Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/engineering environment, preferably in the chemical manufacturing industry.
* Demonstrable knowledge in PdM techniques, FMECA, and RCA.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills, ability to work unsupervised, and excellent attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Experience with ERP/inventory management/CMMS software (Microsoft AX desirable).
Qualifications and Professional Memberships:
* GCSEs grades A-C in Maths and English (Essential).
