An assistant Manager or Manager is required to join a growing Medical Accounts team, based either in Ipswich or Cambridge - hybrid working.
About the team
You will be part of a thriving specialist medical team, which provides accountancy, taxation and business support services to a wide variety of healthcare providers, medical practices, limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders. The firm are also members of AISMA (Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants).
The role

Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Building relationships with clients, including managing your own client portfolio and attending client meetings.
2. Reviewing accounts and the accompanying tax computations.
3. Delegation of accounts work to junior members of staff.
4. Assisting with the development of trainees, including providing training, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
5. Taking responsibility for managing deadlines, setting and meeting budgets and client billing.
6. Reporting directly to partners and working closely with them to provide excellent service to our clients.
7. Building your own experience and knowledge base via our extensive programme of healthcare-related training.
8. Working closely with other managers, tax specialists and other team members.
Desired skills and experience
1. You should hold the ICAEW/ACCA qualification, or be able to demonstrate that you are qualified by experience to a similar level.
2. Must have previous recent experience within a UK practice environment preparing accounts and tax returns for both unincorporated and corporate clients.
3. Managing and training staff.
4. Previous exposure to medical sector clients is essential.
5. Experience of using Microsoft Office and accounting software Sage and Xero.
6. Excellent communication skills: confident and articulate in dealing with a wide range of clients.
7. Tenacious, thorough, with a self-motivated attitude, an expert eye for detail and good organisational skills.
