As the Strategic Procurement Manager for the UK, you will lead procurement initiatives to achieve cost savings, optimise supplier relationships, and align purchases with business goals. This role requires strategic vision, strong negotiation, leadership skills, and cross-departmental collaboration to support organisational objectives.
Leading a team of Strategic Buyers, you will ensure first-class service delivery for BMG, working closely with stakeholders in technology, production, finance, and legal to meet their needs and provide timely support, fostering a collaborative environment as a trusted business partner. You will also leverage procurement data and analytics to provide valuable insights and reporting, showcasing your team’s impact.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Leading, managing, and mentoring a team of four Strategic Buyers.
2. Implementing procurement policies, procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Ensuring expert, professional service delivery within local geography.
4. Developing and enforcing procurement processes, tools, and strategies to align with BMG objectives.
5. Conducting RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and present concise outcomes.
6. Negotiating mid- to high-value contracts and favourable supplier terms.
7. Overseeing supplier onboarding, performance monitoring, and relationship management.
8. Utilizing procurement analytics to forecast, identify risks, and drive mitigation strategies.
What you’ll bring:
1. Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement environment.
2. Proficient in Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint.
3. Experience in ERP / SAP4Hana preferred but not essential.
4. Familiarity with procurement principles, practices and methodologies.
5. Media industry expertise or specific commodity focus advantageous.
6. Previous experience in a managerial role would be advantageous.
