By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Community Garden Coordinator you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living. You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people at risk of developing, or living with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping people live a healthier life and supporting families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke. We are currently looking for a community gardener to help us move our project into the next stage of its development. You will have sound horticultural experience, preferably with experience of, or an interest in, food growing and wildlife gardening. A proven track record of developing and managing projects is also essential as is experience of working with volunteers/community work. The role holder will use principles of community development combined with their horticultural skills to understand the collective needs of those at risk of developing and those living with our conditions to enable communities to improve their health and wellbeing through primary and secondary prevention via garden based activities. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys the outdoors, working with communities and has a creative vision to take our project to the next level.
