Contribute as part of the imaging team to the diagnostic imaging process. Maintain high standards of appearance, manner, punctuality and competence. Undertake all mandatory training required for the role. Work as part of a wellmotivated team. Escort patients both within and outside the department. Chaperone both patients and staff during examinations. Pay due attention to privacy, dignity and respect at all times Enable/assist patients to maintain their personal hygiene, aid in the dressing/undressing of patients and enable/assist patients with eating/drinking as required. Enable/assist patients to access and use toilet facilities. Preparation of the patient and work area for a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic examinations including cleaning and decontamination of equipment between patients. Take part in cannulation of patients Take part in venipuncture of patients Take part in point of care testing of blood or biological samples including labelling and processing samples Provide support for the point of care testing in trouble shooting equipment, replacing faulty equipment and performing QC on the equipment. Ensure adequate stock levels of consumable items in any of the work areas. Unpack stock as required, informing senior staff of discrepancies and shortages Assist with obtaining, transmitting and storing information related to the imaging process. Record accurately any test results into systems Receive messages, answer telephone queries and communicate effectively with other members of the team. Participate in clerical duties including patient registration, obtaining previous radiology records and using the radiology information computer system as required. Contribute to maintaining cleanliness of equipment, and the general work environment within the department. Contribute to the health & safety and security of individuals and the workplace. Participate in developments relating to clinical governance including audit and quality control duties. Any other duties that may be relevant to the achievement of the NVQ Level 2 or 3 competencies. To undertake duties across a seven day working week between 8am and 8pm To be aware of and observe all relevant department, Trust and legislative policies and procedures including Health & safety at work, COSHH, Data protection act, Ionising Radiation Regulations, MRI safety, fire, control of infection and Major incident.
