Amazon is hiring a Senior Vendor Manager (SVM) to improve the experience for our customers in Africa. This role will work across various internal and external teams to evaluate the customer landscapes and invent innovative approaches to solve ambiguous problems. Key Job Responsibilities
The SVM will be responsible for building relationships with vendors, adding selection, managing category profitability, optimizing pricing, and developing their team. The best candidate will have a broad skill set including leadership development, analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, strong vendor management and negotiation skills, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience for our customers. This position requires a leader who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, highly demanding, and ambiguous environment.
Basic Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree
2. 5+ years of experience with business analysis, buying, and P&L management
3. Vendor management and retail experience is a must
4. Negotiation skills experience
Preferred Qualifications
1. Excellent presentation, organization, and account management skills
2. Experience in account management, project or program management, or buying experience
3. Able to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
4. Project management skills
5. Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives influencing on competing priorities
