Department: Maternity – Specialist Midwives
Band: 4, £26,530 - £29,114 Per annum, pro rata
Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An opportunity has arisen within the Women's and Children's division to support data cleaning, collection and analysis for the Maternity and Neonatal departments. This role would entail creating and managing large data sets to support mandated reporting, analysing and communicating outcomes and supporting maternity and neonatal staff with current information to support service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have good IT and data handling skills with experience of working with eCare and BI reporting and have significant relevant experience to evidence this. They will be able to work independently and with initiative to address challenges as they arise. This role requires someone able to work quickly and accurately and who understands the importance of good data management.

To support the accurate capture of data within Maternity and Neonatal Departments, leading on timely collation, analysis and presentation of data ensuring adherence to external contract reporting and KPI monitoring (particularly Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS), supporting clinical teams with the development of processes and improving patient safety and experience through the use of informed decision making relating to outcome capture.
In conjunction with the Data and Digital midwife, they will be responsible for assimilation and supplying all information relevant to the production of monthly reports for MSDS submission.
In conjunction with the Neonatal Team they will be responsible for neonatal data collection and validation.
They will be focused on ensuring clinical information is accurately recorded and reported. They will be required to work within clearly defined occupational policies and operate on their own initiative, taking advice from the Data and Digital Midwife and wider neonatal team as required (work is managed rather than supervised). They will work with clinical operations teams and support data entry and problem solving to ensure the performance of the team is improved and maintained.
