We have a brand new opportunity to join our Group Modernisation team as a Product Owner, Payments Domain. The role reports into the Lead Product Owner and will lead and develop a payments feature team to drive optimisation of product feature delivery. You will be responsible for technology backlogs from shaping to live implementation aligned to the overall product strategy. Leading from the front you will drive business growth by understanding customer and business needs and translating them into actionable product requirements. The role will work alongside other Product Owners and align with other labs focused on Savings, Lending, Data, and Cloud technologies. The role has the flexibility to be based from Wolverhampton or Chatham and will require regular travel to London. As Product Owner, you will have a strong background and understanding of the payments market in order to build our in house capability and knowledge. You will develop and own the payments product backlog whilst staying ahead of emerging trends, technologies and regulatory changes to ensure we remain competitive and compliant. Your responsibilities will include… Leverage deep knowledge of core banking/payments ecosystems, including card schemes, real time payment and alternative payment methods to enhance our product offering Develop and articulate a comprehensive strategy that aligns with business goals, maximising efficiency, customer experience and remaining compliant to industry standards Define, prioritise and ensure clear communication of requirements to deliver product features using EPICS and user stories Define and deliver value to customers and the organisation to achieve business outcomes as defined by the lead PO Work closely with the organisation and SMEs to develop and execute the company’s desired product technology outcomes Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, design, customer service and 2 nd Line of Defence to ensure successful delivery of products and features With a number of exciting opportunities in this role, you will be part of the transformation program which will create a new operating platform for the business. We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below: Previous experience in a Product Owner, Product Business Owner or similar role Track record working within financial services with solid knowledge and experience of the payments market, being able to clearly articulate and understand different payment schemes and their uses Demonstrable experience of payments technology management and delivery experience, from ideation to launch and ongoing management Experience leading and coaching teams in order to deliver multiple initiatives across a complex and varied change portfolio Strong knowledge of technology and ability to evaluate the potential impact of new technologies on products Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisatio n We also believe that your career and how you progress is as unique as your individual personality.
