World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence and Innovation in Witney for the development and manufacture of test strips and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. Our Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities and our internal quality systems.
We have an exciting opportunity to lead our Manufacturing Scheduling team, a part of our wider Manufacturing Planning function. Responsible for the direction and leadership of the scheduling team, you will drive ownership and accountability in the delivery of plans for all site production requirements and manage the plant output tracking back to the agreed production plans. You will coordinate the monthly Integrated Business Planning process and propose S&OP that meets the demand requirements. You will also work closely with stakeholders across the business to communicate production plans and the NPI team to ensure the smooth transition of new products into standard scheduling processes.
Your focus will be to provide a quality and compliant process for the requirements planning, ordering, and management of materials required for product realization at the Manufacturing Facility. You will lead and develop the team and be ultimately accountable for the team's performance, maintaining regulatory compliance and optimizing resources through effective management and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful, you will ideally be degree qualified, but the key requirement is a breadth of experience in material planning processes within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Familiarity with S&OP is preferred, with preference given to those who have worked with Class A principles and/or in a regulated environment.
Equally key to your technical experience is your leadership exposure. You will be a natural people leader with proven experience in team management. Reflecting our culture of identifying and harnessing talent, you will bring proven experience of developing, mentoring, and coaching your team to support employee growth and career development. You will also need to demonstrate a track record of accomplishing your objectives, working proactively, and managing your own time effectively. Using data to drive decisions is key, as is the ability to translate this information to support wider understanding across the teams.
In addition to a competitive salary, Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package which includes a defined-contribution pension scheme, a share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements. Here at Witney, we also like to help our employees live life to the fullest, and therefore we offer a range of optional initiatives for you to get involved in, including onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, bee keeping, yoga, and more!
