About the role
Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Deputy Utilities Coordinator to join our Connect Plus Services (CPS) team based at South Mimms, Leatherhead or Dartford
As the Deputy Utility Coordinator, you'll support the Utilities Coordinator with the review and approval of all plans to break ground and ensure works are being planned in accordance with the Balfour Beatty Avoiding Danger from Services policy, HSG47 and GS6.
You'll also support the site teams in achieving a fully compliant and safe delivery of all works in the utilities sphere while striving for best practice in all matters related to utilities.
What you'll be doing
As a Deputy Utilities Coordinator you'll:
* Manage and support in the permitting approval process
* Carry out utility surveys with operational teams to develop a safe methodology of works.
* Site visits to ensure compliance with the Permit To Break Ground (PTBG) processes and systems.
* Communicate and liaise with utility owners, both internal and external, around approvals of safe systems of work and any unforeseen issues
* Regular visits to depots and sites to engage and support teams with improving the processes around breaking ground and training requirements.
* Supporting the Utilities Coordinator with responding to asset enquiries and administration requirements.
Working arrangements:
We have offices in South Mimms, Leatherhead and Dartford and are flexible as to which office you are based at. The role will involve travel across the M25 network and a company van and fuel card will be provided.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Full clean UK driving license - B/B1
* New Roads And Street Works (NRSWA) – Supervisor
* Knowledge of Statutory Undertakers safety and control procedures
* Understanding utility drawings
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Competent user of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
* Understanding of Overhead (GS6) and Underground (HSG47), PAS-128/256 procedures and constraints in working around of multi-utility’s
* Experience of construction works that interface with underground and/or overhead utilities.
