Hands-on role shot blasting, fully preparing metal components and operating/maintaining all non-CNC machines including reaming and assembly (including prebuild). The Role in More Detail: Follow processes and detail any non-conformances. Use gauges and measuring equipment for inspection purposes. Using jigs and assembly fixtures to manufacture high-quality repetitive components. Maintain a clean environment within the department. Use correct consumables for preparation and sanding of metal and polymer components before paint/powder application. Booking on and off jobs, filling out timesheets and quality check sheets. Identifying material surface defects on parts prior to paint/powder application and repairing using adequate products. Masking, final paint/powder preparation, handling parts on and off paint runways. Moving of chassis parts in and out of paint booths. Maintaining a high standard of 5s workplace organisation. Previous Experience: Ability to read and execute SOP'S to a high standard. An appreciation of the Health & Safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically Isocyanates & flammable liquids. Experience operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment. Ability to read, write and communicate at all levels in English. Experience preparing unpainted parts (desirable). Welding knowledge (desirable) Experienced in using & maintaining air-fed respiratory equipment (desirable). Shot blasting experience (desirable). Working Hours & Salary: Working hours will be 37.5 basic hours per week, on the following rotating shift pattern: Early shift hours will be 6.00am - 2.00pm Monday - Thursday, and 6.00am - 11.30am on Fridays. Late shift hours will be 2.00pm - 10.00pm Monday - Thursday, and 11.00am - 16:30pm on Fridays. Guaranteed basic starting salary £12.01 per hour x 37.5 hours per week PLUS a shift premium of 15% of your basic hourly rate. PLUS a monthly bonus which on average equates to an additional £375 - £450 per month. This bonus is guaranteed at a minimum of £50 per week when all qualifying criteria is met.
