Requirements:
We are looking for a proficient software developer with expertise in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core (6+). You should have experience working with web services (REST and SOAP), a strong understanding of software architecture, and familiarity with Git and SCM tools (e.g., Azure DevOps). Knowledge of Entity Framework or similar technologies such as Vue.js, Visual Studio, or MS SQL Server is essential. You should be experienced in the software development life cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and possess strong collaboration skills to assist fellow team members. Familiarity with various programming methods and the IT industry, along with adaptability to change, is important for this role.
Your responsibilities are:
As a .NET developer in our Scrum agile environment, you will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and testing technology to guide software advancement for PSL and its affiliates. Your key responsibilities will include developing and delivering systems at the appropriate level, writing unit tests, and assisting in testing planning. You will create design proposals with the scrum team, enhance software development best practices, and provide daily progress updates. Ensuring compliance with controls, adapting to changing needs, and establishing rapport with users will also be part of your role. You will support existing PSL systems, assist in sprint planning and delivery, reliably estimate development effort, follow best practices to minimize defects, and contribute to design and analysis while improving efficiency in PSL scrums.

This position is largely remote, with occasional travel, and operates in a hybrid format. We have offices located in Kent, Cambridgeshire, Manchester, Stoke-On-Trent, Sunderland, and Chesterfield. While we value technical skills, we also want someone who is eager to enhance their skills and improve processes within our teams. Desirable qualifications include experience with Docker/k8s, knowledge of the insurance industry (preferably in personal lines), experience with Postman for API testing, and familiarity with work management tools such as Jira.
