We’re looking for a Senior Risk Relationship Manager to support the Head of Change Oversight, who reports to the Chief Risk Officer, in overseeing operational and conduct risk within the transformation portfolio across Aegon UK. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in identifying, managing and mitigating risk while working, in collaboration with senior stakeholders to support the delivery of large-scale projects and programmes within the established framework and risk appetite. Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Drive effective risk management by using influencing skills to provide oversight providing constructive challenge, guidance and support, in the identification and assessment of risks, controls and incidents and the development of actions to reduce excessive risk exposures. Lead, develop and motivate people within Risk and the wider organisation, in the embedding of a strong risk and control culture, building awareness of the risk framework and regulatory environment Provide insight into risk exposures by undertaking effective analysis and interpretation of risk and control MI, using tools, techniques and independent assessment to ensure that there is focus on key areas of risk and the embedding of controls to mitigate risks to an acceptable level. Provide support and guidance to the business in managing risk related to change, transformation, and strategic developments and liaise with Risk colleagues in other areas of specialism to provide subject matter expertise and ensure a cohesive, pragmatic approach Delivery of the Risk function plan through planning and agreeing delivery responsibilities with senior management. We’d love to hear from you if you have: Experience working in a senior level risk management role within a financial services organisation Experience working in a change and transformation environment with a focus on risk management A thorough understanding of current best practices in managing risk Strong strategic and commercial awareness, able to present the “big picture” Ability to assimilate, analyse and assess risk and control information and translate it into clear and actionable management information Experience in representing Risk at governance meetings and the ability to challenge at all levels A collaborative mindset, ready to build relationships across the wider organisation A solution-driven attitude, with the ability to influence, offer valuable ideas and insights The ability to make independent decisions with confidence and ability to know when to escalate and when to seek assistance. A working knowledge of the UK financial services and regulatory frameworks A strong understanding and experience with the PRA & FCA approach to risk management What’s in it for you?
