Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer - Trials & Integration

Salary: Up to £54,000 depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
* Performing a variety of systems engineering activities as part of the Combat Systems Strategic Projects team such as trials and integration by using agile practices
* Supporting internal and customer facing trials and experiments, by deploying, configuring, integrating, and testing Combat Systems software and its associated virtual machines/architectures and software containers
* Assisting in defining the requirements, high level design, statements-of-work, cost estimates and other documentation as required for the successful delivery of trials to meet customer and business goals
* Deploying and configuring systems and architectures to conduct integration testing of systems in preparation for trials and experiments, including producing documentation to assist with design certification
* Providing knowledge and support to customer trials and experiments, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts across the business to resolve any issues
* Running trials and experiments representing the business in customer forums, potentially supporting the occasional international trials as required
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* A technical background in Systems and/or Software engineering
* Ability to take concepts and specify requirements/design
* Experience in running trials and experiments in customer forums
* Methodical and analytical mindset required to resolve issues
Desirable:
* Experience of Combat Management Systems in Naval Domain
* An understanding of system configuration including IT networking, server/console configuration, message protocols and virtualisation
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Combat Systems Strategic Projects team:
This is a growing team in which you will work alongside Software Engineers, and report into the Head of Engineering Delivery - Strategic Projects. You will play a key part in integrating software applications through innovative ideas and demonstrating these to the customers through trials. With learning support from Senior and Principal Systems Engineers this is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain exposure and develop your understanding further. The projects you will work on in this role are unique and exciting, giving you the chance to bring your thoughts and ideas as we work to develop concepts and bring them to life. We will also be there to support you in achieving Chartership status to help you further your career.
