Role responsibilities
* Develop and manage a team of planning professionals ensuring that all programmes are compliant with the project requirements. Providing Stakeholders with the insight to enable the successful delivery of Transport for Wales’ capital, operational and transformational projects by being the custodian of TfW’s Integrated Master Schedule.
* Lead and develop the planning and scheduling team and service across TfW and its subsidiaries and independently by producing principles and processes to plan projects and ensure outputs are delivered on time.
* Monitor and maintain TfWs Integrated Master Schedule by integrating all project schedules monthly, highlighting variances, trends and proposing what-if scenarios to assist management intervention.
* Monitoring contractor compliance in relation to TfW’s planning and scheduling requirements and their monthly submissions in accordance with the NEC contract by identifying impacts on milestones, a projects critical path and risk to support TfW’s Project Managers and their monthly project reviews.
* Monitor and advise on programme and project dependencies by taking a systems approach to enable projects to enter into service as planned in accordance with TfW’s business plan.
Who we’re looking for
* A relevant qualification in Planning and Scheduling or a project/programme management qualification eg APM, PMP or similar.
* Excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience of creating integrated master schedules across multiple projects and programmes in a portfolio.
* Demonstrable evidence and knowledge in the application of NEC contract suite.
* Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of Change Management and Earned Value Management processes.
* Proven track record in analysing scope, challenging durations, identifying interfaces and dependencies, calculating quantities, and costs between projects to monitor a project’s performance.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
