Young boy with ASD seeking PA for 4 hours per week during the school holidays @ £12.50 p/h - Norwich - NR7
Job Purpose:
I am a happy young boy with ASD who is seeking a Personal Assistant to accompany me on family days out and take care of me inside the home.
As a family we do not have any other support and require someone who can supervise me whilst my parents look after my siblings. This could include family trips to a theme park or the zoo, as well as activities inside the home, such as sensory play using Magic Sand and Playdough.
I am a very funny and loving child, who likes to express myself through physical touch such as cuddles. As such, someone who is not afraid to be touched and having someone in their physical space is a must.
I am preverbal and in the early stages of learning to use picture exchange cards. It is not always easy for me to communicate and I can become overwhelmed, however I do have signals and cues that I use and once you learn to understand these, communication is fine.
I am an absconder and don’t fully understand the dangers of running off, as such I require constant supervision, and it is important to remember that all doors need to be locked. I am doubly incontinent and require support with personal care, such as changing pads. I also have an egg allergy, as such someone who is already trained in First Aid/administering an EpiPen would be ideal (however training will be provided if not).
The hours for this position are 4 hours per week during the school holidays, the days of which will be variable. A candidate who has previous experience of working with young children with ASD would be highly advantageous to this role.
