Job Title HGV Class 1 Driver Location Cannock Main Purpose of Job Ensure you arrive at your job on time, using the most efficient route with the correct information against your paperwork. Relationships a) Responsible to: Shunt Operators/Operations Manager b) Responsible for: Ensuring you arrive at your job on time, keeping your vehicle roadworthy with your daily checks and performing your driver responsibilities in line with legislation and company procedure. c) Liaison with: Other Drivers, Shunt Operators, Managers, Container Control Staff, Yard Staff, Forklift Drivers, Customers, other Pentalver Depots and members of the public. Main Tasks of Job Ensure you do your daily vehicle checks to make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to use To ensure you arrive at your job on time Ensure you inform the shunt operators of any problems in good time i.e. if you’re running late Ensure all paperwork is correct and physically checked against your container and seal number Follow all company procedures, customer procedures and the highway code Ability to communicate effectively with the customers, shunt operators, container control staff and other depots, understand requirements and communicate accurate information on time as required.
