The role:
The Mechanical Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the on-site operations for the construction of utility-scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects. This role includes ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. The Mechanical Site Engineer will coordinate with various stakeholders, supervise construction activities, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Your Role will Encompass:
* Studying and understanding each project's design as provided by the engineering headquarters. Crosschecking and reporting any errors to the Construction Manager
* Reporting verbally on a daily basis to the Construction Manager regarding the construction progress and the materials received
* Monitors the stock of construction materials
* Supervises and supports subcontractor activities and compliance to the design
* Communicates design changes and updates to the subcontractors and ensures compliance
* Monitors and ensures subcontractor quality controls are in place
* Implements the Project Quality Control program
* Overviews each subcontractor's installation work quality and the precision to the design. Reports to the construction manager every time there is a quality breach
* Evaluates construction methods and determines cost-effectiveness of plans according to experience
* Investigates damages, accidents or delays at the site, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
* Supports the implementation of corporate QHSE Procedures
What you Bring to the Role:
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in utility-scale Solar PV or BESS construction. Other backgrounds such as wind, energy, heavy industry or oil & gas will also be considered.
* University or Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Proficiency in the English language
* Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software
* Clean driving license
* Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to manage a team and perform under pressure
