The studio is a newly formed entity within a family office team for a UK-based HNWI. This is a new role, created to lead and support FF&E and procurement. The office is based in Farringdon. Due to the HNWI’s emphasis on privacy and discretion, there is limited public information available about the company. The studio is established to bring top design talent in-house, reducing the need for outsourcing.
The project estate in the west of England, which is being transformed into a luxury, highly curated hospitality experience. The property is listed, has secured planning, and is currently in the design development stage. There is a high volume of work in interior design, procurement and FF&E at present. The hotel will be a pioneering luxury destination in the UK, offering a tailored and immersive experience for guests.
The UHNWI has a clear vision for the hotel, which will be brought to life through the expertise of the design internal team.
You will be part of a highly creative project team working on a once-in-a-lifetime restoration and transformation of a historic estate. This project is about pushing creative boundaries, curating extraordinary spaces, and combining heritage with innovation. This role is ideal for interior designers with strong FF&E experience who want to explore, experiment, and be curious about what can be achieved when blending the old with the new.
The Role
* Sourcing: Procurement of furniture, one-off pieces, antiques, and artworks, along with bespoke furniture, upholstery, and lighting.
* Design Development: Creating mood boards, fabric schemes, and presentations.
* Project Leadership: Managing multiple FF&E projects across the entire estate.
* Specification & Budgeting: Developing detailed specifications and schedules, overseeing budgeting and procurement.
* Supplier & Team Coordination: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and artisans, ensuring seamless collaboration with the design team.
* Creative Strategy: Ensuring cohesion between historical and contemporary elements while maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship.
* Communication: Leading presentations, effectively articulating design concepts, strategies, and material palettes.
* Project Oversight: Ensuring all design and procurement align with the project vision, deadlines, and financial constraints.
Skills & Requirements
* BA Hons in Design, Arts, or related field (preferred).
* 8 years + proven experience high-end residential or boutique hospitality design.
* Expertise in sourcing and curating one-off, bespoke pieces.
* Knowledge of artisans, craftspeople, and bespoke production processes.
* Strong procurement experience with extensive supplier and product knowledge.
* Proficiency in Vectorworks, Photoshop, and InDesign.
* Creative problem-solving and ability to think conceptually about FF&E.
* Highly organised with strong project planning, scheduling, and budget management skills.
* Excellent negotiation skills for supplier and product/finish sourcing.
* Track record in acquiring ultra-bespoke, high-value FF&E pieces.
* A solid understanding of art curation and how artwork enhances interior spaces.
* Experience working in a UK-based luxury design studio.
The client is open to candidates across various experience levels. Since this is a newly forming team, they are looking for high creativity, enthusiasm, and a strong ability to perform under pressure.
Structure: 4 days office, 1 day wfh
Please note that this role will be permanent, however, the project is set to finish in 2026.
