The role:
This role is focused on meeting the needs of priority students, ensuring their needs are identified and barriers removed with interventions in place specific to their individual need. It will be working with a cohort of students who demonstrate emotional based school avoidance and developing a programme to work with students and their families to remove barriers. It will involve working to support students in school, liaising with families, offering support and visiting homes to offer outreach support and early help.
The person:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and hard-working person to join our committed team and who can provide students with a high quality, personalised learning experience, contributing to their continuing education. The successful candidate will have experience of working with and supporting students and young people.
The ability to work with a small group of students or one to one along with empathy and understanding are key qualities needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience and an ability to engage students and families, visiting homes and offering support, mentoring, and signposting. This will involve supporting with a range of barriers which may prevent students from accessing school, such as anxiety, routines, parenting support and emotional support. The successful candidate will be able to liaise with families, external agencies and offer support whilst also ensuring high expectations.
