The Team
We are seeking a Junior Application Packager to join our team in the London Office. This role involves providing support to up to 1,300 users across 29 offices worldwide. You will be reporting to the Desktop Architect, and this role is an onsite position with some flexible working arrangements.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining, configuring, and supporting desktop technologies in a hybrid environment. You will manage software distribution, patch management, and the building and deployment of software packages to workstations using SCCM and Intune. Additionally, you will provide administrative support for software package development and 3rd line support for any delivered applications and their infrastructure.
As we transition to online services, you will also be responsible for building and managing applications in Intune and maintaining the Autopilot build. Experience with Intune configuration and setup is essential. We currently have 750+ applications in the company portal. These applications will require support and patching to remain compliant and will be the main KPI area of this position.
The Role
* Application Repackaging: At least 2 years of experience in repackaging applications using tools such as AdminStudio or PACE. You should be competent in creating and modifying MSIs using transforms and command line switches. We heavily base our packages on BATCH, so expertise in batch writing will be essential, as well as experience with PowerShell.
* SCCM and Intune: Experience of working with SCCM, including administration, boundary management, discovery methods, updates, collection management, software metering, application and package creation, and operating system development and build management. Experience in adding applications to Intune and leveraging the Company Portal for end users is required. Autopilot management experience is also essential as we fully migrate to cloud services.
* Release Management: Experience of working in an ITIL environment is a must. You will be responsible for packaging, testing, QA, UAT testing, and managing releases to production. You must follow the change management process and attend CAB meetings.
* Testing: A strong understanding of testing methodologies is required. You must ensure all potential issues are covered, as we do not operate in a remediation environment. All packages need to be 100% correct on release.
* Business Awareness: You should understand how a business operates, the importance of the company’s application suite, the level of testing required, and the ability to handle unexpected downtime. You should also be familiar with the change management process and identify process improvement opportunities.
* Project Management: You will have opportunities to manage major upgrades. You should be able to create project plan documentation, liaise with the business to gather requirements, and ensure they fit into IT approvals. Clear and concise documentation writing and communication skills are essential.

* Work with the business to understand their challenges and requirements and represent these needs with comprehensive action plans for approval.
