The role of this Personal Care Assistant
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. We have a 2 vacancies available for our client working both full-time day shifts and full-time night shifts as follows:
Post 1:
39hrs per week which will include every other weekend
Post 2:
flexible hours of 33-44hrs per week to meet the needs of the client, working nights
About the Client and Duties
Our client is an independent man in his early 30s who has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user. He requires assistance in all aspects of daily living and has some complex health needs, but his zest for life remains undiminished. You will work alongside a committed and dynamic small care team and some of the main duties include; administration of medication, moving and handling with a hoist, gastrostomy and personal care, assisting the client in the community, administrative duties and general housework.
Training and Support:
We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
• Full induction
• Safeguarding Adults
• Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene
• Moving and Handling with Hoist
• Administration of Medication via PEG
• Gastrostomy Care
• Pressure Area Care
• Epilepsy
• All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at £14.00 per hour
Requirements:
• Females only for night shifts
• Drivers with a full UK licence for day shifts
• Previous care experience essential
• Team player, friendly, fun and dynamic

• You must be reliable, compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
