A fantastic specialist school in Oxford is looking for a Special Needs Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable children, helping them reach their academic milestones.
The role:
* Work closely with experienced educators and a multi-disciplinary team to provide personalized assistance and interventions to children with Autism and other learning difficulties.
* Support children with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them cope and benefit from their education.
* Provide daily support as an SEN TA, either 1-to-1 or in small groups, ensuring each child receives the attention they need.
The Responsibilities:
* Assist with classroom activities, support students during lessons, and implement intervention plans to promote academic and life skills.
* Build rapport and a trusting relationship with staff and students.
* Collaborate with the teaching team to create sensory-friendly learning spaces and tailored teaching techniques for each child's needs.
Requirements for a successful candidate:
* Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
* Personality, initiative, and proactive attitude are important.
* Kindness and compassion are highly valued.
* Understanding of safeguarding; an enhanced DBS certificate is required or willingness to apply for one (application support available).
