SALARY: £68,202 - £75,780
LOCATION(S): Manchester
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, spending at least two days per week at our Manchester office.

We are seeking an ambitious and proven Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This role offers the chance to influence the way we craft, build, test, and deploy using brand new technology.
We are the Smarter Journeys Lab, part of the Colleague Channels Platform, focusing on enhancing customer journeys and driving growth through innovative solutions.
What you’ll do…
* Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
* Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify patterns.
* Optimize machine learning algorithms for performance and scalability.
* Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning.
* Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers.
* Mentor junior engineers and data scientists.
* Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, algorithms, and processes.
* Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models.
What you’ll bring…
We are looking for a seasoned and adaptable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
Required Skills:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Python, R, or C++.
* Knowledge of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning algorithms.
* Skills in data cleaning, normalization, and transformation.
* Knowledge of NLP techniques and tools.
* Experience with libraries like Transformers, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
* Ability to evaluate models using metrics like accuracy and precision.
* Skills in model deployment and monitoring.
* Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Understanding of software development principles.
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of working in regulated environments.
* Strong understanding of linear algebra, calculus, and statistics.
* Experience with cloud services for deploying machine learning models.
