Job Title: Trauma Informed Teacher

Leader Education are recruiting a Trauma-Informed Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit, supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
This role involves working with pupils who are unable to access mainstream education due to their SEMH and behavioural needs. In this role, it is essential to understand the impact of trauma on students and to create a safe, supportive learning environment. Resilience, empathy, and commitment are key to succeeding in this position.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:
* A current DBS that is on the update system, or a willingness to obtain one
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Previous experience working with Trauma-Informed Care
* Strong subject and curriculum knowledge, with the ability to plan and deliver structed and engaging lessons
* A deep understanding of SEMH needs and how they impact learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and members of staff
* Ability to communicate in a sensitive and compassionate manner - creating trust and promoting a sense of belonging
* Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
