We are looking for a Hydrographic Surveyor to join our team. As a Hydrographic Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys of the seabed to gather data on its features and topography. Responsibilities:
* Preparation and planning of surveys to gather data on the features and topography of the seabed.
* Installation of modern survey equipment, including multibeam echosounders, side-scan sonars, and sub-bottom profilers.
* Calibration and verification of survey equipment to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
* Data collection and daily field reporting, including the use of various survey equipment to collect data on the seabed.
* Processing and provisional final field reporting, including analyzing and interpreting survey data to produce charts, maps, and reports.
* Providing support for other ongoing operations, including collaborating with other team members to plan and execute surveys safely and efficiently.
* Giving advice or instructions on geophysical/hydrographic matters to ensure the quality and accuracy of survey data.
* Ensuring vessel safety procedures are known and followed to maintain a safe work environment.
* Ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe manner, in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in a survey-related discipline, hydrography, or geology.
* First experience in surveying for national charting purposes.
* Knowledge & skills for data processing and interpretation of relevant data and good knowledge & skills of modern survey methods and equipment.
* Basic safety training (STCW95 is a plus).
* Driving license.
* Positive team spirit.
* Methodical way of thinking and flexibility with excellent attention to detail.
