What is the job?
Our Operators are an integral part of the supply chain process and are responsible for ensuring goods are manufactured in a safe, efficient, and quality-driven manner that provides the best possible service.
Working 4 days one week (Monday to Wednesday 6am - 6pm and Thursday 6am to 5.00pm) and 3 nights the next (Monday to Wednesday 6pm to 6am), our regular shifts don’t include weekends and we shut for bank holidays.
All operators are responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing activities are carried out in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for ensuring all machines are running at the correct cycle times with the right information present.
* Ensure the quality standard is maintained at the high standards set by the QC department.
* Ensure all first and last-off samples are maintained, and quality samples are collected for sign-off.
* Ensure that all tool changes are completed safely, and on time and that the tool change procedure is followed.
* Ensure that the machines are in a fit and proper state after the tool change has been completed before moving into a production run and that all tools are put back in their correct place.
* Ensure all production paperwork is completed correctly and in a timely fashion, reporting any failures to your line manager.
* Support continuous improvement projects within the Operational areas.
* Liaise with the Engineering department to ensure any machine issues are dealt with promptly.
* Communicate effectively with the department head over the production plan and implement any changes that are necessary.
* Ensure all manufacturing activities are carried out safely with due diligence taken not to damage products.
* Ensure all production paperwork is completed in an accurate manner and handed to the Department Head.
* Monitor quality and ensure all hourly checks are completed and report any failures to your manager.
* Hand over a clean, tidy, and ready-to-run production cell.
* Accurately report and record any damaged products and waste.
