Main duties of the job
The Receptionist and SOTC Administrator role encompasses a wide variety of duties and will require the successful applicant to provide a comprehensive, efficient, and accurate administrative service. The post holder will manage their own workload and act on an independent basis as required - this includes adhering to the Access Policy, Waiting Time Targets, and Partial Booking.
Experience of working within the NHS is an advantage, including knowledge of PAS; however, full training will be provided. The post holder will complete an orientation period to the area in accordance with the Trust's induction programme and will be supported in their ongoing professional development.

Job responsibilities
This post is split between reception work and providing administrative support to the Inpatient Admissions Team. This includes providing a friendly and efficient reception service for all visitors to the Unit whilst ensuring the area is well maintained, patient registration, booking follow-up appointments, clinic preparation, completing admissions/outcomes/coding, booking day case procedures, and loading inpatient referrals onto PAS. The post holder will be required to work as part of the inpatients and outpatients team as well as with clinical staff to deliver the highest standards of administrative support possible for all patients and staff.
The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description, and person specification. Computer competence, strong customer care, communication, attention to detail, and team working skills are all required.

Qualifications and Experience
* 3 GCSE's grade A-C minimum (must include English).
* Good working knowledge of administrative and secretarial practice.
* Experience of customer/patient-facing roles.
* Ability to communicate appropriately and sensitively to patients and carers while maintaining confidentiality.
* Advanced keyboard skills and excellent working knowledge of all Outlook applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as other related PC applications.
* Maintains comprehensive filing system and records both computerized and paper.
* NHS working experience. Understanding of medical terminology.
* Knowledge of PAS Careflow ECDL.
