Job Summary Please note salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to work within our Outreach Service providing mainly evening support for people with learning disabilities or autism. Sessional workers will facilitate social groups and activities such a Bowling group, Women’s group, Men’s group, Spectrum Film Club, MAGSS (Gaming) group, Social Club, Quiz and Bingo night and a Breakfast Club. Sessional workers will work within Adult Day Services, alongside our large established team of workers who are based at the Allander Resource Centre, the Outlook Community Based team and the Local Area Coordinators. They will support the improvement and provision of opportunities and outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities or autism. Previous experience of working with adults who have learning disabilities or autism is required. Having a full Driving License is desirable though not essential as the post will involve travelling to groups that meet in various locations in the community. Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead. Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary. The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
