Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs while working in a completely outdoor environment? Join our partner school in Exeter, Devon, as an SEN Teaching Assistant and make a real impact in a unique, nature-based education setting!
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for students with a range of needs, including PMLD, SEMH, Complex Needs, and ASD. This role is entirely outdoors, offering students an alternative approach to learning that encourages well-being, confidence, and engagement through nature.
Responsibilities:
1. Support students in an outdoor learning environment with hands-on activities
2. Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide personalized support
3. Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored learning plans
4. Help students develop key life skills through nature-based experiences
5. Create a safe, nurturing space for emotional, social, and academic growth
Qualifications:
1. Passion for SEN education and outdoor learning
2. Previous experience in education, care, or outdoor settings (preferred)
3. Strong communication skills, patience, and resilience
4. Ability to work entirely outdoors in all seasons
